Privacy policy

Last updated 3 July 2026

Tackled is built to be a safe place to put things down — that promise starts with your data. This policy covers both the Tackled Mac app and this website.

The short version

Tackled stores everything on your Mac. There's no account, no login, and no server. Nothing you type into Tackled is ever collected, transmitted, or sold — because it never leaves your machine in the first place.

What Tackled stores, and where

Tasks, brain farts, notes, reminders, and preferences live in a local SQLite database in your Mac's Application Support folder. Only Tackled and you have access to it. Uninstalling the app and deleting that folder removes everything.

Local usage counters

Tackled keeps a small local log of anonymous usage events (like "a task was captured") purely to power its own momentum meter and recap views inside the app. This log never leaves your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and there is no analytics service involved.

Notifications

If you set a reminder, Tackled asks macOS for permission to show a local notification at the time you chose. This is handled entirely by Apple's on-device notification system — no reminder content is sent anywhere else.

This website

This marketing site (tackledapp.com) is a static set of pages with no tracking scripts, analytics, or cookies. It loads two typefaces from Google Fonts, which — like any web font request — may cause Google to see standard request metadata such as your IP address. No other third party is involved.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
